Slugger Ryan Hernandez is back after his record-breaking 2024 season. The American Association’s home run leader crushed 29 bombs and brought home 92 runs, both DockHounds single-season records.
Dominican by blood, Hernandez is a Boston native. He began his college career at Albany, but later transferred to the University of Houston. After three strong seasons with the bat, Hernandez took his talent to the MLB Draft League in 2022 and joined the West Virginia Black Bears.
An OPS north of 1.000 earned Hernandez pro looks, which brought him back to Texas with the Cleburne Railroaders in the American Association. He took the league by storm and the Los Angeles Angels purchased his contract, earning his first shot in affiliate ball at high-A Tri-City with the Dust Devils. Spotty playing time led to his release and return to Cleburne where he helped the Railroaders make the Miles Wolff Cup playoffs, capping a successful 2023.
A coaching change prompted his trade to Lake Country where Hernandez got to boast his power at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park. Hernandez netted an opportunity in Mexico this winter and spring, but is thrilled to be back with the DockHounds and finish what he started in 2024.
