Oconomowoc, Wis. – A Sunday sweep! The Lake Country DockHounds finish the weekend series with the Goldeyes by defeating Winnipeg 14-5 Sunday afternoon at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park.

A wild game all the way around from start to finish went the Hounds direction as Lake Country totaled 14 runs on 19 hits in the series finale today. In the three-game series as a whole, the DockHounds scored 25 runs on 43 hits against the Goldeyes.

Every single Lake Country batter had at least one hit in today’s game. Some of the standouts included Marcus Chiu, who went 3-4 with a homer, a double and 4 RBIs. Thomas Jones reached base in 5 of his 6 trips to the plate. Jones hit a solo homer in the 6th inning, for his second long-ball of the year. After not playing in the first two games of the series, Pat Demarco went 3-5 this afternoon, with 2 singles and an RBI double. Brian Rey also continued his hot hitting from the bottom-third of the order, going 3-4, with a walk, 2 singles and a 2-RBI double.

On the mound, Lake Country turned to Austin Faith to start today’s ballgame on the mound. After Faith completed the first 4 innings, Ken Huckaby went to his bullpen. Augie Voight, JJ Santa Cruz, Keisy Portorreal and Jojanse Torres all combined to complete the final 5 innings, only giving up 2 hits to the Goldeyes offense in those 5 frames.

The Hounds will have an off-day tomorrow before the homestand continues Tuesday night against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. With the win this afternoon, and the series sweep, Lake Country improves their overall record to 8-13 on the season. With the loss today, Winnipeg now falls to an identical record of 8-13. Next up for the DockHounds will be a three-game series with Fargo-Moorhead Tuesday through Thursday from Oconomowoc. First pitch for Tuesday night’s ballgame is scheduled for 7:35 from Wisconsin Brewing Company Park.
