Jim Gantner

May 16
Jim Gantner

On May 16, the DockHounds will host their home opener and welcome local legend Jim Gantner. Gantner, a beloved member of the Brewers’ 1982 World Series team, will throw out the first pitch and serve as a celebrity bartender at the Home Plate Bar for the first three innings. While autographs will not be available, fans can purchase a special drink at the bar and take a photo with Jim Gantner. This is the perfect opportunity for fans to interact with one of Milwaukee’s most cherished players.

THE GANTNER STORY

A fan favorite amongst the cheeseheads for a reason, Jim Gantner is a Wisconsinite through and through. Born in Fond du Lac, Gantner stayed in the state for college and attended UW-Oshkosh for three years. Then, the Milwaukee Brewers selected Gantner in the 12th round of the 1974 MLB Draft.

Gantner only needed one full season in the minor leagues to get up to the show and make his MLB debut on September 3, 1976. His first truly successful MLB season came in 1979 when in 70 games he posted a .726 OPS and 1.2 WAR. Gantner accumulated at least one WAR for nine of his next 12 seasons, highlighted by his campaigns surrounding the only Brewers pennant in 1982, from 1980-1983.

Remaining loyal to Wisconsin, Gantner remained a Brewer for his entire 17-year career, amassing 1,696 hits in 1,801 games before suiting up for the final time on October 3, 1992.

June 20
Rollie Fingers

Rollie Fingers Headlines ‘Mystery Fingers Night’ on June 20 On June 20, the DockHounds will welcome Hall of Fame pitcher Rollie Fingers for Mystery Fingers Night, presented by Stamas Dentistry. The first 500 fans will receive either a Rollie Fingers-style foam mustache or a surprise foam finger from a mystery baseball team. Fans will be treated to a special evening honoring one of the greatest relief pitchers in the history of baseball, with fun activities and giveaways throughout the night.

July 14
Robin Yount

Robin Yount Returns as First Base Coach on July 14 On July 14, Hall of Famer Robin Yount will return to the DockHounds as the guest first base coach for the evening. Fans will see the Brewers legend in action as he coaches the DockHounds during the first three innings of the game. Yount’s leadership on and off the field made him one of the most iconic figures in Brewers history, and this appearance promises to be a highlight for fans of all ages.

Robin Yount needs no introduction: the greatest player in the history of the Milwaukee Brewers. Selected third overall in the 1973 draft, expectations were sky high for Robin Yount; he shattered those, becoming a first ballot hall of famer in 1999.

With pro ball experience for only 64 games on the Newark Co-Pilots in low-A, Yount made the Brewers opening day roster in 1974 and never looked back. “The Kid” ultimately played 2,856 games in the big leagues, all with Milwaukee, before amassing 3,142 hits and winning two American League MVPs.

August 4
Ted Simmons

Ted Simmons Concludes the Legends Series on August 4 The Legends Series will culminate on August 4, when Hall of Fame catcher Ted Simmons visits Wisconsin Brewing Company Park. Fans can look forward to a special tribute to Simmons’ outstanding career, including opportunities to hear from the legendary catcher.

*Single game tickets for these games, based on seating availability, are not eligible for Meet and Greet opportunities. Autograph sessions with each player will not be available. Autographs will only be available to a select number of winners drawn from Legends 5 Pack Holders and Season Ticket Holders.
