4 Braedon Blackford

A standout at Peoria Notre Dame High School in Illinois, Braedon Blackford started his college career in 2018 and 2019 with NJCAA DII Carl Sandburg College where he helped bring the Chargers two conference championships and was named a JuCo All-American for his efforts.

After a successful 2019 summer with the Lafayette Aviators of the Prospect League, he transferred to Illinois State and played in 14 games before the pandemic and used a redshirt year in 2021. He played for the Wilson Tobs in the Coastal Plain League that summer before transferring again to Purdue-Fort Wayne for 2022.

In his first season the the Mastodons, he started in 19 games as a middle infielder before starting 55 contests in 2023. He was named to the All-Horizon League First Team after a top-four league finish in RBI, home runs, slugging percentage and OPS.
Done with college eligibility, Blackford played in 46 games for the MLB Draft League’s State College Spikes in 2023. The following year, he entered professional baseball with the Pioneer League’s Yolo Highwheelers. In 83 ballgames with Yolo, he hit .326 with 13 home runs.
Now, he makes the jump to the American Association with Lake Country.
