7 Ray Zuberer III

Ray Zuberer III was a three-sport athlete growing up in Kentucky, with accolades to his name for baseball, football and basketball. He was named a co-recipient of the state’s male athlete of the year in 2016 before heading to Western Kentucky for a baseball career in Conference USA. His athletic versatility has allowed him to play all over the field with most of his time in the outfield.

After his quiet freshman year in 2017 at WKU, he played for the Alexandria Aces in the Cal Ripken Collegiate League. He returned to campus and won a spot in the lineup, playing in 48 games. Once the season concluded he reported to the Southern Ohio Copperheads in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League for 40 games and a .329 batting average.

His final three seasons at WKU netted him an additional 126 contests even with the COVID-19 pandemic. He utilized his extra year of eligibility in 2021 and was used as a second baseman where he had his highest Hilltopper RBI total with 33.

After his collegiate career, he landed a professional opportunity in 2022 with the Florence Y’alls. He hit .285 for the ‘22 Y’alls before a slight bump to .288 the following year for Florence, logging 181 games over the two seasons in the Frontier League.

In 2024, he became a DockHound and hit .320 in 67 games for Lake Country, including nine doubles and eight home runs. Following the 2024 season, he headed south to Canberra for winter-ball in Australia, appearing in 13 games.

Back from down under, Zuberer returns to Lake Country for his fourth year of pro ball.
