4 Luis Aviles Jr.

Luis Aviles might be most-traveled DockHounds position player this season. In fact, this isn’t his first trip to Lake Country. Our biggest fans may remember he played two games in 2023 before being transferred to the Houston Astros, where he finished his season.

Long before that, Aviles was taken in the 30th round of the 2013 MLB draft out of high school in Miami. He remained in the Brewers organization through the 2019 season after stops at rookie-Helena, A-ball Wisconsin, high-A Carolina, and double-A Biloxi before electing free agency.

Aviles played the 2021 season with the Los Angeles Angels at double-A Rocket City after opening with triple-A Salt Lake but injured himself in his debut. Once again electing free agency, Aviles signed with his hometown Marlins.

This time, Aviles split time between double-A Pensacola and triple-A Jacksonville while hitting .256 with 43 extra-base hits. He then took his talents down under and posted an .844 OPS with Adelaide that winter.

Aviles’ next opportunity came with the San Diego Padres and started at double-A San Antonio. A slow start led to his release, his days in Oconomowoc, before 72 strong games with double Corpus Christi.

Since then, Aviles has spent the last two winters and 2024 regular season in Mexico, totaling 75 RBI. Now, he returns to the DockHounds just in time for the 2025 season.
